“Roy, they’re handing out the points now!” my mother used to shout up to my room on a late Saturday each and every May. After all the songs had been performed, next was where the exciting part started for me. Who’s most probable to win? Who would give points to whom, and especially to Norway? What did it look like in the broadcast from each country?

This year’s Eurovision broke records in viewership numbers, and they really did put on a great show. The green screen effect of the Greek entry and the powerful lights effect of the French entry were innovative and refreshing. I also thought some of the songs were quite good this year, and the top 3 deserved their spots in my opinion. I had my money on Malta and France – which upped the excitement till the very end.

But what were the songs about? Luckily, we run a translations agency, so it wasn’t too hard to get the lyrics translated. Our translators usually work with sports and gaming content, but we found a few that were happy to take on the job of translating the Italian, French and Swiss songs into English.
