“I PLAY ONLY TO WIN”
Premier League legend Colin Hendry has confirmed he will be leading the Matching Visions team when the Ball In Cup kicks off the Summit of iGaming Malta (SiGMA) on November 16th.
The Scotsman with 218 matches in the Premier League is looking forward to put his football boots back on, but he surprisingly reveals that he will try to contribute with scoring goals rather than defending.
“Unless the defense needs sorting out of course, I will function as a target man. I might be able to surprise with my dribbling skills. Don’t forget I scored the winning goal against Charlton at Wembley!”, Hendry told Ball In Translations.
He is referring to the final of the Full Members Cup in 1987, one of his first matches after signing for Blackburn Rovers from Dundee United. Blackburn won 1-0 after an 85th minute goal by Hendry. We couldn’t find any footage of the actual goal, but some excited Blackburn fans confirmed “there was nothing wrong with it” in this post match interview.
Hendry scored 8 goals in 218 Premier League matches and won the league title with Blackburn in 1995. Another career highlight was obviously being the captain for Scotland during the 98′ World Cup in France against Brazil. Now he’s licking his chops for another trophy in the Ball In Cup SiGMA – which is a one-day five-a-side cup at Luxol for companies attending SiGMA. Hendry will play for the affiliate network Matching Visions, for whom he acts as an ambassador.
“It will be really good fun. I am looking forward to play some football and meet so many people from what seems to be a very exciting industry”, Hendry said.
The cup is organised by All In Translations – a market leading provider of language services to the gaming industry.
